Rashad Alakbarov is an artist of a different breed. I love to see new interpretations of art, new styles that rise like the phoenix. Alakbarov's medium is light and shadows. He arranges house hold items and miscellaneous scraps into beautiful shadow figures. One of his masterpieces is designed with transparent, colored glass that has been shaped into airplane-like figures. When light is shown through the hanging airplanes, a painting is made visible on an adjacent wall.

You can be a shadow artist too. It's a simple concept that can be achieved with a flashlight and your own imagination. Kids love shadow puppets and so do new artists!
